Leonard Rubins and Mountain Ghost production

Rubins parallel group projects, implemented in cooperation with similar minded, or in a group of international projects, and exhibitions, that conceptually overlap in the manifest of projects in terms of the Mountain Ghost production (MG onwards). The primary content of images are the ecological and ethnic issues that, resulted in constructs, without the authentic experience of content.

Although many times MG does not participate in local or global interactive web projects, he is trying to transform the contents, or simply draw attention to himself. He rather stays in the background, and observes in silence. MG is basically a “worshiper of the roots and the things above the clouds“, rather than an active trader of modern society and its rites.Long ago, MG has seen through the temporality of this time, he re-educated himself into a global ecologist, who is implementing his activities rather mentally, settling them locally and has no intention to harm anyone. Although there are enough reasons for resistance, he is constructing his projects with the help of his unique scale of values. First, there are soil and air, then water and fire, only then, there are the constructs of the world – the products of acquisitive mental flows. Frequently pissed and angry, he wishes to possess the voice of thunder, when, watching short-sighted activities of ignorant masses to which he also belongs. He rather takes refuge in the solitude of mountain peaks or deep forests, where he heals his numerous scratches and sharpens his teeth.
MG has never created a static image of his identity. He often appears as a compromise maker who, is acting socially critical, but immediately escapes to his reserve – the world where he is soundly sovereign. Here he wanders around, stalks lonely discipline thoughts and, forges daring plans that, primarily frighten him alone the most. He also often avoids to live each day the way it offers itself in the daily routine.
MG is therefore in permanent process of transformation as some kind of a “puer aetternus”, he is becoming extremely antisocial, waylaying, separated and in deep temptations. Incomprehensible and unfulfilled, but – free. Anti-individualized, in the world that, leaves him indifferent, giving birth to his current images, that nevertheless speak and call to you.
I The Mountain Ghost trots to and fro, The world beneath my feet reveals unrest,
The raven from the birch tree flies, But nowhere a hare, nowhere a roe.
The roe – she is so dear, so sweet; If such a thing I might surprise
In my embrace, we would meet, What else is there beneath the skies?
The lovely creature I would so treasure, And feast myself deep on her tender thigh,
I would drink of her young delicious body in full measure, Then howl till the night went by.
Even a hare I would not despise; Sweet enough its warm flesh in the night.
Is everything to be denied That could make my life a little bright?
The hair on my brush is getting grey. The sight is failing from my eyes.
Years ago my mate lives better without me. And now I trot and dream of a roe.
I trot and dream of a hare – I hear the wind in dark night roaring.
And dear brother, when I look back upon desolate landscape of my ephemerality,
my heart feels bitterness, surrendering my Soul to God and Devil,
on some distant day, or maybe soon.
